The lake has two heavily foliaged islands skilfully located to provide differing fishing channels and varying conditions from one area of the lake to another. The water depth varies between three and ten feet and the underwater and lakeside vegetation and shrubs ensure the preservation and excellent condition of the fish. The lake was initially generously stocked predominantly with mirror carp up to 30lbs and common carp up to 22lbs but also tench, bream, crucian, chub, rudd and roach. 15lb plus mirror carp are caught almost every day although the four 30lb plus fish which were included in the original stock and are often seen on the surface on hot days are wiser nowadays and more difficult to catch.
In eight years the lake has matured and integrated perfectly with it’s natural setting, as our photographs demonstrate however, you must view it first hand to appreciate the way in which it’s designers have skilfully created a beautiful, healthy and productive fishery which blends naturally with the local environment on the outskirts of one of Kent’s most picturesque villages.
The lake attracts serious fishermen but also lends itself to relaxed family outings. We are always delighted to welcome the next generation of anglers in their early learning stages as long as they are properly supervised and tutored by parents or a responsible adult.
